Wilf is an urban designer and planner with 37 years local authority experience in the West Midlands, South West and South East. He has worked in a range of disciplines – including housing layout, project management, implementation, town centres, transport, street design, public art, planning policy, development management and economic development.
Latterly, Wilf was Cheltenham’s Urban Design Manager, where his team included landscape, highway design, economic development and heritage.
Since going freelance in 2017, work has included housing layout, public art, walking strategy, neighbourhood planning and appearing as an expert witness. He is a local Sustrans volunteer helping on route maintenance and advising on planning applications, transport and regeneration projects.
He has worked on projects which have won the RTPI Award for Planning Excellence 2014 (Exemplary Planning to Deliver Housing); the Urban Street Environment Traffic Calming Award; Building for Life Gold Awards; and commendation from the Princes Trust & HBF.
