The Design: South West Review Panel (DSWRP) is managed by Creating Excellence Ltd., a not for profit company, established in 2007 to provide impartial advice and support to communities, developers and public bodies. The DSWRP process provides a professional and independent service that assesses and advises on the design quality of schemes being developed in the South West of England.
Our Design Review Panel is made up of experts in all fields of architecture, landscape design, highways, environmental specialisms and urban design in order to provide impartial advice for new residential, public realm and commercial schemes.
We bring together a bespoke panel of experts for each Design Review, enabling us to select people with the appropriate disciplines for your project.
Building for Life 12 has been relaunched as Building for a Healthy Life (BHL) – updating BFL12, this joint initiative with the NHS, Homes England and the Home Builders Federation, this Design Code aims to improve the design of new and growing neighbourhoods.
Creating Excellence, as part of the Design Network, provides BHL training, assessment and facilitation. The CE Housing Excellence Design Panel has a track record of supporting schemes to achieve better designed, healthy and sustainable places.
The key to embedding good design in planning is to ensure regular up to date training for all professionals involved. We create individual sessions covering topics including highways, environmental challenges, urban design and planning policy and can deliver them to local authorities or the private sector. Get in touch with us to book onto one of our regular training sessions, or to create something specifically for your team.
Creating Excellence provides a whole menu of services designed to assist the progression of building developments through the planning system. This might be a regeneration project or a new build. We can provide impact appraisals, look at conservation issues and produce evidence required to support the very best outcomes.
The Design Network consists of seven not-for-profit organisations around the UK which promote better and more sustainable places in order to stimulate economic growth. As members of the Design Network we are able to work with the best people from around the country and draw in expertise to our own design review panels.
